Privacy Policy
Trainerax Private Limited · Updated 9 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Trainerax Private Limited ("Trainerax", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you use the Trainerax app, the Trainerax Coach app and our website (together, the "Service"). By creating an account you agree to this policy. Last updated: 9 October 2026.
1. Data we collect
We only collect what we need to coach you and run the Service:
- Account details: name, phone number, email address, password (stored only as a secure hash by Google Firebase), and sign-in with Google or Apple if you choose it.
- Profile and goals: age, gender, height, weight, goal, activity level, training time, diet preference, foods you avoid, injuries and health conditions you tell us about.
- Health and fitness data: workouts and sets you log, food and water you log, meal photos, body measurements, BCA reports, progress photos and 360° photos, blood reports you upload, and — only if you connect them — steps, sleep, heart rate, workouts and weight from Apple Health or Android Health Connect.
- Messages and calls: chats with your coach and with the in-app assistant, voice messages, and the times of coach calls. Voice and video calls are live only; we do not record them.
- Bro Connect: your username, friends, cheers, nudges and messages with friends.
- Payments: your plan, amount, date, payment status, the Razorpay order and payment reference, and the type of payment method used (for example UPI, card, net banking or wallet), for receipts, refunds and your membership. Payments are processed by Razorpay, a payment aggregator regulated by the Reserve Bank of India. We never see or store your card number, expiry date, CVV, UPI PIN, net-banking password or bank account login.
- Device and usage data: push notification token, device model and operating system, app version, crash and error logs (including the screen where an error happened), and basic usage events such as which screens are used, to keep the Service working and improve it.
- IP address and server logs: when your device talks to our servers we record the IP address, date and time, and the request made, for security, fraud prevention and to limit misuse. We do not use your IP address to track you.
- Location: the app does not collect your GPS or precise location. Your city, if you enter it, and the approximate region implied by your IP address are the only location information we hold.
- Website and cookies: our website and web pages use only cookies and browser storage that are strictly necessary (for example, keeping you signed in). We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies, and we do not use analytics or advertising SDKs in the apps.
2. How we use your data
We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
- To create your customised workout and diet plans and adjust them as you progress.
- To let your coach see your logs, reports and messages and look after your plan.
- To log food, water, workouts and calls from your messages, estimate food from photos, and explain reports in plain language.
- To send reminders, coach messages, call alerts and other notifications you can switch off in Settings.
- To process payments, give receipts and manage your membership and free trial.
- To keep the Service secure, prevent misuse, fix problems and meet legal obligations.
3. Automated processing and AI services
Some features use automated tools, including artificial intelligence (AI) services. The data shared with third-party AI providers is limited to:
- Your profile and goals: age, gender, height, weight, goal, activity level, training days and time, diet preference, foods you avoid, and injuries or health conditions you tell us about.
- Your logs: workouts and sets, food and water, steps, sleep and heart-rate summaries.
- Content you choose to send for a feature: meal photos, food labels, BCA and blood reports you upload, and your messages and voice messages to the in-app assistant.
- Your coach's notes and plan, when the assistant drafts a reply or a plan change for your coach to review.
We do not send your phone number, email address, password, payment details or Bro Connect friends to AI providers.
This data is shared with AI providers solely for the purpose of:
- Drafting your customised workout and diet plans for your coach to review and approve.
- Estimating food and nutrition from meal photos and labels.
- Reading BCA and blood reports and explaining them in plain language.
- Replying to you in the in-app assistant, and logging food, water, workouts and calls from your messages.
- Turning voice messages into text, and text into speech for voice features.
Our AI providers are Google (Gemini) and, as back-ups, DeepSeek and OpenAI; voice features use Sarvam AI. They act only as our data processors: they may process your data only on our documented instructions and to provide these features, must protect it with security measures equal to or stronger than ours, and may not use it for their own purposes, including marketing, advertising or training their models.
Automated suggestions are not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Your coach reviews your plan; talk to a doctor about any medical condition.
Some coaches let the assistant draft replies in their chat with you; your coach remains responsible for what is sent.
4. Who we share data with
- Your coach: the Trainerax coach (or your own trainer, if you joined with their code) who looks after your plan.
- Friends on Bro Connect: only what you choose in Bro Connect privacy (workouts, streaks, PRs, steps, food and macros). Weight and photos stay private unless you turn them on.
- Service providers who run the Service for us: Google Cloud and Firebase (hosting, database, file storage, sign-in, notifications), the AI providers in section 3, Razorpay (payments), Apple and Google (sign-in, app stores, notifications) and Expo (app updates).
- Government or law-enforcement authorities, only when the law requires it (for example a court order or a lawful request), or when it is needed to protect the life or safety of a person, such as a medical emergency, or to protect Trainerax and our users from fraud.
- A buyer or successor if Trainerax is merged or sold, who must keep protecting your data under this policy.
5. Sign-in and health integrations with Google and Apple
If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive only your name, email address and an account identifier from them, to create and secure your account. Google and Apple also process data under their own privacy policies when you use their sign-in.
If you connect Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android), we only read the data types you allow (steps, active calories, distance, sleep, heart rate, resting heart rate, weight, body fat and workouts). We never write to them and you can switch syncing off at any time.
Trainerax's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data from Apple HealthKit is used only to provide fitness and health features in Trainerax, is never used for advertising or sold, and is never shared with third parties for their own purposes, in line with Apple's App Store Review Guidelines and HealthKit rules.
6. Where your data is stored
Your data is stored on Google Cloud in Mumbai, India. Some providers (for example AI providers, Firebase sign-in and notifications) may process data outside India; when that happens it is protected by their contracts and security measures and handled as permitted under Indian law.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile, logs, photos, reports and messages are deleted from our systems, except records we must keep by law (for example payment and tax records). Encrypted backups are deleted automatically after 14 days. If you used a free trial, we keep a one-way fingerprint of your phone number and email (a scrambled code that can't be turned back into them) so the free trial can only be used once per person; it contains no other information.
8. Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), encryption at rest for sensitive health data such as blood reports, private file storage with time-limited links, access controls and regular encrypted backups. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data we will inform you and the authorities as the law requires.
9. Your rights and choices
- Access and correct your data in the app (Profile and Settings), or ask us for a summary of the data we process.
- Withdraw consent or ask us to erase your data: delete your account in Settings → Delete account, or email us. Some features stop working without the data they need.
- Choose what friends see in Bro Connect privacy, switch off Health app syncing and notifications at any time.
- Nominate someone to exercise these rights for you in case of death or incapacity, by writing to us.
- Raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer (below) and, if unresolved, with the Data Protection Board of India.
10. Children
The Service is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has an account, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. If the changes are significant we will tell you in the app and, where the law requires, ask for your consent again.
12. Grievance Officer
In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the name and contact details of our Grievance Officer are given below.
In the event of any complaints or concerns about the app, the website or our services, please contact our Grievance Redressal Officer:
